Time for political steve! Most of the time i keep my thoughts to myself especially on subjects like the one I'm about to talk about. Everyones entitled to their own opinions and i don't want to offend anybody, but sometimes i have to say what i think.
During my normal browse of the news today i found this article, "Disability: The difficulties of the Hardest Hit". So of course being disabled i read it. At first i i thought "good for them" but that quickly changed.
Everyone knows that the government is making massive cuts to save money, it has to happen and its pretty much going to affect everybody, including disabled people.
Disabled benefits are due to be reviewed over the next few years, and a lot of people are really unhappy about it. Personally i think that it's only fair that the benefits are reviewed. No one knows exactly what will happen, however if your a genuine case then i don't think you need to worry to much.....

10 years ago today i had finished college early, normally i would have spent time in town but i decided to go straight home. I got home and sat down on the sofa to watch some TV for a bit.
When i turned the TV on the BBC news was on, and i couldn't believe my eyes! The first of the towers had been hit by a plane. Erm what? "is this real?" i didn't believe it at first, i just sat there stunned, then i started getting text messages about it. It was just unbelievable to watch. At the time i was thinking it would just be one tower, but then the second got hit and other buildings as well.
I don't think i have ever been so shocked in my life, i didn't understand why anyone would want todo that, i wouldn't imagine what it must have been like to have been in New York that day.
For the rest of that day i was glued to the news, and for many days to come. It took a long time for it to sink in. In fact 10 years later i don't think it has sunk in yet. ....

I've been doing lots of thinking lately. Mainly because I'm snowed it. The thought I've been having is related to how cold it is.
I think men have a tougher time with the cold than women and here's my reasoning.
It's not because men don't like the cold, or we can't handle it. It's because we have less additional options to keep us warm.
Men have at most the following options.
Women have more options though.
Some of my female mates wear tights and 2 pairs socks at the same time! ....

Trust can be a very difficult thing in normal every day life, but on the internet it takes on a whole new perspective!
I've been using the internet since i wad about 13, thats 12 years, so i like to think i have a good understanding of how it works. I've spoke to hundreds if not thousands of people in that time. Back then there was no Twitter, no Facebook, no MySpace, no chat roulette, MSN only just about existed, but no one used it.
Chatrooms and emails did exist though, and it doesn't take long for you to start talking to the same people, and at that age you do trust people really easily, and in my personal experience it was totally fine. The only annoying thing was the fact you used to get cut off every hour and it used to take ages to reconnect. ....

I don't normally comment on news or blog about important subjects but i felt on this occasion, i should. I was reading through BBC News last night and came across this article, Disabled people are socially excluded and it made for an interesting read.
Now if you haven't already guessed from this website i use a wheelchair, i'm not going to go into the in's and outs of that right now, but i feel i should comment on the above story from my point of view and personal experiences.
I realise that this is isn't my normal type of blog but after recent twitter conversations i feel some people might be interested. ....
