For years the UK has always had to wait for new films, TV shows and games, we used to just accept it, but now it's really starting to bug me.

The most recent example is the new season of Dexter, it started last week in the US, but it looks like it won't arrive in the UK until early 2013! What's up with that? The same applied to the new season of Homeland although the wait wasn't as long.

New films are pretty much always out in the US before the UK often months in advance. It's been proved that it is possible todo a global release of a new film or TV show, so why not do it all the time? Everything is digital these days, so there's no logistics available in distributing it worldwide at the same time.

I'm not a fan of streaming / downloading shows from the US as i would rather wait for it to be available. However delaying releases does encourage people to view it via different means because they don't want to wait. This damages revenue for the relevant production companies.

Making content available at the same time would increase revenue and decrease piracy, so i really don't understand why it's not common practice. As far as i can tell there is no benefit of releasing content at different times in different content.....

Over the last few days I've seen a few people say I'm too contactable these days and you know what they're right. We are much easier to contact than we were even 10 years ago.

Most people these days have a mobile phone, email, twitter, facebook, msn etc etc. If you text someone and they don't reply you might wait a while and then tweet them or see if they're on msn.

My parents always say that I change my plans to much. For example I might say I'm meeting someone at 8 but then 2 minutes later its 9 or the location might change completely. The reason this happens is because we are always in contact with our friends, so plans can be discussed and changed easily. This is when I get the "when I was your age" speech from my parents.

Back they didn't even have a telephone in their house and hadn't even heard of a mobile phone or the Internet.....

I don't normally get all "political" but for once I'm going to, don't worry i don't mean government politics. I'm going to talk about my thoughts on people paying for things, Films, Music, but more specifically games.

Over the past 18 months "indie" game developers have been increasing in numbers. For those that don't know what an "indie" developer is an independent developer. They often start of as one person developing a game, using their own money, all their own time, in the hope of creating a popular title.

Recent games of this type that have become massively popular lately are, Minecraft, Terraria, Project Zomboid, Proun and many others. All this games are classed as "betas" and have been for some time, they offer the games at very cheap prices to encourage people to support the game so it can continue to be developed. The lucky ones become massively popular, with millions of players and supporters.....

Another weekend has been and gone, i say this every year and i'm going to say it again, this year is going so fast! It's now 12 days til my birthday and it only feels like yesterday that it was my last birthday! I don't know where the time goes!

Yesterday i went shopping, spent ages looking around which is unusual for me. I mainly went shopping for a new desk lamp, why might you ask? My room gets really dark at night as do most places, but my ceiling light doesn't really light up my desk for working so i decided to sort it out. Little did i know that the world of lights and bulbs was massive. I knew that most bulbs give out out a "yellowish" light, which isn't always great for working conditions, i knew "whiter" bulbs existed so thats what i was after. Turns out a daylight bulb is the badboy you want, and its AMAZING its such an improvement! If anyone thinks their room is a bit dim and dull get a daylight lamp/bulb.

Saturday night was Dr Who as always....

I've completely lost track of what day it is. Friday was a bank holiday because of the wedding and that made Friday feel like a Sunday. So I feel a bit lost today, tomorrow is another bank holiday so I'm going to be even more confused!

Anyway, that's not the only thing annoying me! You must of heard about Sony's massive cock up, they were hacked and had 77million users details stolen, including mine! There was also a high possibility that credit card details were also stolen.

So I rang my credit card company just to see what their advice was and they told me to cancel the card to be safe. So I did! Yesterday (2 days later) my new card arrived, pretty quick right? I had to active it online which is normally simple. But it's not letting me activate it! Grr. By the time I rang customer services yesterday they were closed and there closed today to! Since tomorrow is a bank holiday I'm not sure if they will be open then either!!! So I can't use my card yet FML.....

I have just learnt some unfortunate news!

I like most people love theme parks, there a great place to have fun right? I also make it so secret that i'm sometimes in a wheelchair, i mean how could you miss the header of this blog?

Well if you didn't know, this allowed me to skip queues at most if not all theme parks in the UK, this included Alton Towers, Thorpe Park & Chessington. I was allowed to jump the queues with 4 people (including myself) and ticket prices were half price for me and one other person.

As you can imagine this made me very popular with friends and i would often get invited along to theme parks if other people wanted it go! Queue jumping was very appealing to people. It was great.

Actually i was ready to rant but i've just done some research. ....

Emo rant warning!

Where to start, hmmm.

The last few days, especially today and yesterday i have been in a pretty bad mood. In fact i still am and can't see me snapping out of it any time soon.

I guess you could say life is frustrating me at the moment, and as it's me I'm sure you can guess the problems mostly revolve around women. I'm not going to go into massive amounts of detail. But i have been trying really hard to prove to someone that i want them and want to be together, much harder than i have ever tried. I know that they like me to, and that they are trying as well which i really appreciate. The situation is just difficult and not as easy as we would both like it to be and i do understand that.

I like then A LOT and that's why I'm trying so hard, i know it's not always the best thing to do but i can't sit around wondering "what if". ....

Today i got called a "Posh Geek" I wasn't sure how to take this really. Anyone that knows me would say I'm not posh and although i like computers I'm not sure i class myself as a geek.

Here's some definitions of geek.

1. A person with an unusual or odd personality

Ok i guess i am odd sometimes, but everyones a bit odd sometimes right? I don't think that makes them a geek

2. A peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, etc.

As previous mentioned, i am a bit odd. I'm not very intellectual though! But i am obsessed with my iPhone and iPod. But everyone i know that has an iPhone or iPad loves theirs to soooo.

3. An expert in a technical field, particularly to do with computers

Ok this one might be true.

4. A person who acquires an interest in "geeky" subjects such as Japanese Anime, Star Wars, Star Trek and the film The Nightmare Before Christmas

I like Star Wars, and the latest Star Trek film but i hate the series!

5. A person more comfortable with computers than with other persons.

Although i am comfortable with computers, i'm very comfortable with people to, you can't take your computer out for dinner could you.

So i am a bit odd, I'm obsessed with my iPhone, I'm pretty good with computers and i like Star Wars.

But does that really make me a geek?....

Today for the first time ever i incurred bank/credit card charges.

Normally every month before my credit card bill is due i check the balance and make sure i have money in the right place to pay the whole thing off, I've done this for the past 5 years without fail. But for some reason this month, i forgot. When the Credit Card tried to take the direct debit i was £5 odd short and the payment failed.

I realised pretty much straight away and made a manual payment to rectify the problem. I informed both parties straight away but fees had already automatically been added! £25 from my bank and £16 from my credit card company. So i got stung by both parties for £36 for my first missed payment ever!

Now i understand these charges have to apply in some cases, but i corrected it on the same day! It wasn't like i just ignored it and hoped it would go away and i went to the effort to tell them both i had corrected the problem.....

A few months ago I blogged about my thoughts on texting etiquette.

Over the last few days it's really started to bug me again.

I like to think that I always reply as quickly as I can regardless of how busy I am. It takes no time at all to write a quick reply so unless I'm asleep or driving I'll reply.

It bugs me even more when people say they are busy and cant reply but it's easy to see they are tweeting no problem! I know this might sound so pedantic but it's just good manners to reply.

I've decided that I don't have time for people that can't make the effort and take days to reply even if they reply at all. If I'm not worth their time then why should they be worth mine?

Im sure there are people that agree with me.

With the amount of quick, easy ways to communicate these days it should be just as quick and easy to reply.

I'm so frustrated.
