When the first Apple iPhone was launched I was really sceptical, it was Apples first phone, was it going to be any good, were the apps really going to be that amazing?

I have since been an iPhone user for 3 years I'm totally hooked on the device, it's changed my life. I can do pretty much anything on my iPhone, it's increased my productivity and keeps me entertained everyday. I'm also addicted to the App Store, I love an app. I currently have 217 apps on my iPhone, a mixture of both free and paid. I have apps for banking, shopping, website editing, computer management, photography, videos, fitness, news, gaming, literally everything I could ever need and it's increasing on a weekly basis. I'm always reading app reviews or browsing the app store for the next popular app.....

I'd imagine that on Wednesday the 12th of October, the Apple fans were eagerly awaiting the release of iOS5 the latest version of software of the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Before i start i'll say that i am installing iOS5 on my iPhone 3GS.

It was due at 6PM in the UK, i knew i was going to still be at work so wouldn't be able to download it until a bit later on. At 7:30 ish i finally could get to my iMac to download the update. You need iTunes 10.5 for the update which was released the previous day, which i had failed to download beforehand. So i launch software update and the download begins, it took forever! I really wished i had downloaded it the day before, oh well.

I plug my iPhone in and the download for iOS5 begins, again it took forever! but after an hour or so it was complete and the install could begin.....

Today was the day, the day i have been waiting 6 months for.

Apple finally announced their new iPhone, the iPhone 4S.

I've had my iPhone 3GS for near on 2 and a half years now, so an upgrade was long over due, everyone was expecting the next iPhone to be announced back in June, but Apple delayed it until today.

The iPhone 4S features an 8MP, 1080p recording camera, a faster A5 processor with much improved graphics performance, improved battery (time will tell if this is true) and wireless performance, including an upgrade to bluetooth 4. It also features a powerful new voice interface called Siri.

But for me, the biggest part of this announcement was iOS 5. It was announced a few months ago so we pretty much know all the features, new ones include find your friends and iCards, which allows you to send real cards to real people! (seems pretty pointless if you ask me). ....

Everyone loves an Apple rumour, and i speak from experience!

There's now a rumour that the next gen iPhone, the iPhone 5 will be announced/launched on the 15th of October!

It's now been well over a year since the release of the iPhone 4, so it's got to happen soon right? So many people are waiting for it, even just the announcement, we just need to know, we don't want to be kept waiting, the anticipation is getting to much! I know that Apple like to create a media frenzy, but come on enough is enough!

Please Apple, at least give us a hint, just a small one.

Thanks ....

ImageI know this is just a rumour but i really do hope it's true. My iPhone 3GS is now over 2 years old! This is the longest i have had the same phone ever! That said apart from poor battery life it's doing just fine *touches wood*

I really do want a new phone though, its time i had a new phone and i really can't wait that much longer. It's the fact that know one really knows when the iPhone 5 is going to be released. I know that Apple like to keep a secret, but there must be loads of people waiting to hear when it will be available. I know for a fact that Apple are losing customers to Android because they can't be bothered to wait for the iPhone 5 when there are better spec'ed phones available elsewhere.

I'm not gonna lie, it has crossed my mind to jump ship to Android, but i have a load of paid for iPhone apps that i would have to by again if i did get an Android phone, and i really don't want todo that.....

ImageThe white iPhone 4 has just be released 10 months after it should of been! However It's really bugging me though and here's why.

Any Apple fan will know that so far a new iPhone comes out every year so under normal circumstances the new iPhone should be with us in June/July but we already know it's likely to be delayed a bit, the most common rumour is putting the release in September. Even in the worst case senario it might be first thing next year.

So with that in mind, first of all why did Apple bother releasing the white iPhone 4? Why not focus on iPad 2 production and wait to release a white iPhone 5 from day one? It doesn't make any sense!

But what shocks me more is the new White iPhone 4 is already selling out. Are people idiots? There is going to be a new iPhone in the next 6 months!....

ImageAny iPhone user is always on the edge of their seat this time of year waiting for Apple to announce the next iPhone, and i'm one of them. I have had my iPhone 3GS for almost 2 years, and whilst iOS has been updated it has started to get slow and i miss n having some of the lestest features that the iPhone 4 has, personal hotspot for example.

The next iPhone cannot come quick enough, and looking back at Apple's release schedule all iPhone's have ben released around June, and i was really hoping for that this year. However rumour has it that this is going to change this year!

Normally the iPhone is announced t Apple's WWDC in June and then released shortly after. But this year it's been announced that WWDC is a software only event, and that means is highly unlikely for them to announce the iPhone, a hardware device.

As you can imagine this has caused a lot of rumours to spread.....

My eyes lit up when i saw this rumour. BGR announced today that the very popular Blackberry Messenger will soon be arriving on the iPhone and Android devices.

This is big news.

The only reason i still have a Blackberry is because of BBM, i dont want to give up (probably) the best free messaging platform for mobile users. It's so easy to say to someone with a Blackberry "i'll BBM you" and its all free, texts, pictures, voice notes, file transfers,

On top of all that it's very reliable (touches wood) I've never had a problem with it, unlike various similar apps for the iPhone.

Part of me thinks it will never happen, but if RIM really want to rule the mobile messaging market then they will have no choice.

As soon as it does happen i will be ditching my Blackberry.....

If you open iTunes today and connect your iPhone or iPad you will be asked if you want to upgrade to iOS 4.1 and ofcourse the answer is yes you do!

The update was announced by Apple last week, and comes with a number of new functionalities.

Firstly the Gaming Centre, which is Apples new idea for social gaming, it allows you add friends and then easily challenge them to a multiplayer game.

The next feature is also a social one. Ping, an add on to iTunes that lets users follow each other and shows music that you listen to or have recently purchased.

With iOS 4.1 you now have the ability to take HDR photos if your model has a camera, If you have an iPhone 4, you'll also now be able to upload HD video to YouTube and MobileMe directly from your handset.
